PRE-CANSKATE / PARENT and TOT |
SKILLS DEVELOPMENT |
Winter Session This program is geared to brand new skaters 3-4 years of age. The skater may attend on their own or together with a parent. For families who want to attend in the parent and tot format, the adult who will accompany the child on ice must also be registered with Skate Canada and therefore an additional fee of $61.70 will be charged. |
October 20 to March TBA This will be a high-energy, instructional skating program, geared to improving the speed, agility and balance of skaters. Please note: In order to register, skaters (8-12 years of age) must have passed CanSkate Stage 3, or if they haven’t taken CanSkate before, be able to:

Payment & Associated Costs
All skaters must pay the mandatory Skate Canada registration fee of $61.70.
In addition, fees associated with testing (StarSkate), attending Competitions, extra practice ice and private coaching are not included.
We can accept payment in full or in two payments. Please make payment prior to start date.
If paying in two payments:
- Payment 1 = 50% of registration fee plus $61.70 Skate Canada Fee for each skater; due prior to start date.
- Payment 2 = Remaining 50% of registration fee; due December 1 2024.
Please Note: The Deep River Skating Club reserves the right to cancel or combine sessions to suit numbers of skaters to be determined by the Club executive and Coaching Staff. Dates and times of classes may be modified.
Refund Policy
Withdrawal prior to October 31st, full refund less Skate Canada Fee.
Withdrawal prior to December 31st, half refund less Skate Canada Fee.
Withdrawal after December 31st, no refund will be given.
Financial Assistance
Financial assistance is available for families who need a little extra help. Funding is provided by the Canadian Tire Jumpstart Program which is administered by North Renfrew Family Services. Visit the Jumpstart Program and North Renfrew Family Services websites for more information and to apply.
